Project Overview
The Vehicle Management Platform is a centralized system designed to help organizations manage their electric vehicle (EV) fleets efficiently. The platform provides fleet visibility, trip planning, and real-time monitoring by syncing both vehicle specifications and telematics data.

Users
Challenges
Too much data on one screen clutter & confusion, users can’t focus.
Solution: Segregated into static, live, historic, and trip sections with red/green color codes for clarity , presenting all 3 in one UI without overwhelming users.
1
Hub / Central Operations Manager
Oversees the entire fleet.
Tracks vehicle health, availability, and trip schedules.
Makes decisions on which vehicles to assign for trips.
2
Trip Management Team
Plans and monitors daily trips.
Assigns vehicles to routes.
Uses telematics data to check if trips are on time, delayed, or need rerouting.

2
Users assumed they needed to refresh the page to see updated real-time information.
Solution: Added a blinking dot indicator beside “Live Mode” to clearly signal that the data is continuously updating in real time.

1
What did I learn?
Learned how to simplify complex, data-heavy systems by separating static, live, and historical data.
Understood the value of micro-interactions (like the blinking live indicator) in building user trust.
2
What impact did the design bring?
Enabled Operations Managers to quickly scan and act on fleet health and trip assignments.
Improved real-time decision-making by making live data obvious without refreshing.
Reduced errors in trip planning through visual clarity and role-focused design.

What was the project about?
Centralized Vehicle Management: platform that provides fleet visibility, trip planning, and error tracking ensuring better uptime and utilization of vehicles.
Monitor static details: vehicle make, model, battery capacity, odometer, purchase year, etc.
Track live telematics data: ignition, speed, SoC, temperatures, driver, route, ETA.
Review historical insights: trips , charging sessions and alerts.
Manage trip assignments: check vehicle states (idle, charging, on-route, error, maintenance) and optimize schedules.
